THE WELL BRED & BRANDED METHOD

Build a breeder presence as thoughtful as your breeding program.

You already know how to breed responsibly. The Well Bred & Branded Method helps you bring that knowledge, experience and commitment into the places people are looking today.

It isn't about marketing puppies. It is about becoming visible enough to educate, communicate clearly and build meaningful relationships with the people trying to understand your breed.

Keep what works. Expand where you can be found.

THE SIX PARTS OF THE METHOD

1. BE SEEN

People cannot learn from a responsible breeder they cannot find.

A current website, an active social presence and clear information about who you are give people a place to begin learning about you, your dogs and your breed.

Visibility is the doorway.

2. EDUCATE

Responsible breeders possess firsthand knowledge that cannot be replaced by a generic breed description.

Share what living with your breed is really like—the wonderful qualities, the challenges, health considerations, temperament, grooming, training and the experience you have gained over time.

Education is the purpose.

3. SHARE

Let people see the life behind your breeding program.

Share adults and veterans as well as puppies. Share everyday life, activities, accomplishments, photographs, experiences and the work that happens between litters.

You don't have to share everything. Share enough that people can understand who you are and what matters to you.

4. LISTEN & RESPOND

An inquiry is not simply an opportunity to tell someone about your dogs. It is an opportunity to learn about the person in front of you.

Listen to their household, lifestyle, expectations and questions. Respond thoughtfully and help them understand whether your breed—and the timing—is right for them.

The goal is understanding, not persuasion.

5. CONNECT

Connection develops when people feel heard, informed and respected.

Use conversations and waiting-list time to learn about people, continue educating and help determine whether the family, the breed and eventually the individual puppy are a good fit.

Not every meaningful connection has to result in one of your puppies.

6. STAY CURRENT & CONSISTENT

Your breeder presence should continue to reflect who you are and how you breed today.

Keep your website, photographs, dogs, accomplishments and information reasonably current. Maintain a presence between litters, stay available as a resource after placement and continue learning from the dogs and families connected to your breeding program.

Consistency does not mean constantly.

THEN BEGIN THE CIRCLE AGAIN

Be Seen. Educate. Share. Listen & Respond. Connect. Stay Current & Consistent.

Then be seen again.

The Well Bred & Branded Method isn't a sales funnel with an ending. It is an ongoing circle of visibility, education, communication and relationships.

Exposure is the doorway. Education is the purpose. Connection is the result.

A brighter future for our dogs is the reason behind it all.
